My name is Lou and I provide a supportive, warm and empathic space where your story can be heard. I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I use various styles to work alongside you to better understand yourself, your difficulties, or challenging life events. I run an LGBTQ affirmative practice and have lived experience of mental unwellness. In addition to my work in private practice, I work for Rethink Mental Illness as part of their MENDOS programme.
What do I offer?
I offer both long and short-term counselling, either in person or on Zoom.
Training and Qualifications
Following comprehensive training in Integrative and Transactional Analysis Counselling, I hold a Diploma in Counselling and am accredited with the National Counselling Society.

Areas of experience
I am an experienced counsellor with particular experience working with those who have personality disorders, dysfunctional relationships and Bipolar Disorder. I have also worked extensively with people suffering from difficulties associated with sexuality, gender and identity, body dysmorphia and disordered eating. I have also helped people understand and change problem dynamics in their intimate relationships, including the wider family.
In addition to working with over 18’s, I also have some availability for working with those between the ages of 16 and 18.
I offer counselling on the following basis:
- Individual: a £50 fee for a session which lasts 50 minutes.
- Couples: an £80 fee for a session which lasts 75 minutes.
- I invoice the fees at the end of the month.
- I charge the full fee for absences, cancellations and missed appointments where I am given less than one week’s notice
